17th April 2009 Skiing: Murren Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: cloudy with light snow Max Speed: Distance Covered: The forecast was right as we set off in light rain and cloud. Up the Allmendhubel railway and were surprised that the lower slopes were good as the very light snow which fell most of the day helped improve the piste.We spent the day on the Gimmen and Schilgrat runs as the wind was lighter and visability better than the top ! More and more of the pistes are closing which is'nt surprising as the resort is closing this weekend ! We had a good picnic right under the Schilthorn cable car by a water fall and also watched some people sledging on a dedicated path which looks great fun.I did lose both skis once and ended up taking out a group of learners !! must get my bindings tightened-thats my excuse anyway !! Twisted my bad knee abit so abit sore but just keep taking the Ibuprofen as it's our lost day tomorrow and it's snowing quite heavily now !!!! |
